Preparing for winter's rest
As the holiday season approaches, our thoughts turn to family gatherings, sharing with loved ones. But, often we get so caught up in the shopping and other activities, that we forget about ourselves. We tend to overextend our time, and our bodies. Nature shows us that the winter season is a time of rest and rejuvenation. Trees, and our animal friends are a good example of that rest. Trees lose their leaves, some animals go into hibernation. All to rest, and prepare for the season of spring.
We hope this winter, you will be kind to yourselves. Be gentle and patient with your bodies. A cup of warm tea, in a quiet place, a good book that you have been wanting to read, or just a quiet time for meditation or prayer can be a wonderful way to restore your body and mind. A gentle yoga class to help rejuvenate and stretch your body.
These things only require a bit of your time, but they can make a big difference in your life, and the lives of your family and friends.
